Psalm 2 1 Why do the nations stir up trouble, and the peoples plot in vain? 2 The kings of the earth exalt themselves, and their rulers gather against the LORD and against His anointed One, 3 saying, “Let us break their chains and cast off their shackles!” 4 He who sits in heaven laughs; the Lord mocks them. 5 Then He will be angry and rebuke them and terrify them, 6 saying, “I have set my king on my holy mountain Zion.” 7 I will now proclaim the statutes of the LORD. He has spoken to me: “You are my son; today I have begotten you. 8 Ask of me, and I will give you the nations as an inheritance, and the whole world will be your possession. 9 You shall rule them with an iron rod; you shall crush them as a potter smashes his vessel.” 10 Therefore, be wise, you kings; and heed the warning, you rulers of the earth. 11 Fear the LORD and serve him; tremble and shout for joy. 12 Kiss his Son, lest he be angry and you perish on his way, for his wrath is swift.
