Tank Trout on the Fly - Tarryall, Colorado

#fishingvideo #flyfishing Some trout are measured in inches. Others earn the title of "Tank." While fly fishing from my kayak at Tarryall Reservoir, Colorado, I connected with one of the thickest rainbow trout I've landed this season. Between the mountain backdrop, incoming weather, and powerful fight, this was one of those Colorado fishing moments worth remembering. The fish came on a 5-weight fly rod, taking a green Woolly Bugger (I said leech but it was the bugger) on the Northeast side. When that line tightened, I knew right away this wasn't your average trout.
