University of Toronto

The University of Toronto (U of T) is a Canadian public research university in Toronto, Ontario founded in 1827. It is located on the grounds surrounding Queen’s Park. The first North-American electron microscope was constructed at the university in 1938. The university was also the birthplace of insulin, the first injection of which was given to a diabetic patient at the Toronto General Hospital. In the 1960s, James Till and Ernest McCulloch discovered stem cells while working at the university. The video shows the main building of Trinity College, its main tower as well as the Trinity quadrangle, which has long been a focal point of student life. It also shows several university departments: The Department of Materials Science and Engineering, Bergeron Centre for Engineering Excellence, and The Department of Mechanical & Industrial Engineering.
