How to Draw Sally from Nightmare Before Christmas | Animation Academy in Disney California Adventure

Stepping into magic and into the Animation Academy, as we prepare to draw Sally from The Nightmare Before Christmas! Located in the big blue building in HollywoodLand, the Animation Academy offers many art classes throughout the day. We were so excited to hear we would be learning to draw this beloved doll. We always feel we learn both art techniques and fun facts about the characters we are drawing, and today didn’t fall short in either area. Did you know Tim Burton didn’t actually direct the Nightmare Before Christmas? While the story itself was created by Tim, he was occupied with another project during the time the movie was being filmed, so he asked Henry Selick, with whom he had previously attended college, to step in and direct. We love Sally, and are glad we took the time to learn how to sketch her while at DCA.
