Many of you are surely familiar with statements like "when climbing over a stepladder, at least three rungs must protrude" or "a maximum of four sections may be used on the stepladder." But are these statements really true, and what are the sources for them? In this video, we delve into the myths and examine what is true and what is perhaps more of a myth. We also examine the stepladder as a means of providing support for climbers and examine whether this is possible and how it makes sense. In addition to the theory, we also look at practical examples. Here's an interesting deployment by the Cologne Fire Department from 1987, in which an eight-section extension ladder was used to rescue people, and a current deployment by the Hüfingen Volunteer Fire Department from 2021.
