Hello! Sohoton is a very popular tourist destination for travelers to Siargao! Siargao is usually the most developed(?) and largest of the surrounding islands, so people often visit Sohoton as part of their Siargao trip/tour. Actually, Sohoton is part of the Socorro region of the island of Bucas Grande! Siargao, where I live, is quite far away, so many travelers want to visit Sohoton, but only about 50% of tourists actually go to Sohoton! (Siargao Island has many tourist attractions besides Sohoton, and of course, there's the Sukba Lagoon.) But! Despite all this, why are people so crazy about Sohoton? It's famous for being a super-amazing spot where you can swim with jellyfish. If you search YouTube for videos of people swimming with jellyfish in Sohoton, you'll find tons! Many Korean YouTubers go there too! Early December, when my family visited, is considered one of the off-season months for Sohoton. That's because the jellyfish, a staple of Sohoton tours, are gone! But you know what? Why is it called off-season...? 🙄 Everyone was so eager to dissuade us from going, saying we'd regret it later, but still!
