I walked down an entire street of ancient wooden houses with beautiful carved window frames, but didn't see a single person. The road had long since been overgrown with grass, and all around was complete silence. The most amazing thing was yet to come. One of the houses was open. Inside, everything remained as if the owners had just stepped out for a moment: furniture, dishes, old photographs, clocks, personal belongings. Each room holds the memory of the people who once lived there. Places like these remind us how quickly an entire village can disappear, leaving behind only empty houses and memories.
