A Leo Leoni un'opera omaggio dal Comune di Lamone
Thirty years after the release of Gotthard's first album, the Municipality of Lamone has decided to pay tribute to Leo Leoni's career: Isabel Piazza collects her reactions and strong emotions. The commemorative work can be visited at the Contrada degli Artisti Lamonesi: https://goo.gl/maps/soZRvXf1FX57yFdZ7 The history of rock is rich with great musicians, exquisite guitarists, and excellent performers; and then there's Leo. He belongs to that breed of "rock 'n' roll heroes" capable of boasting rare and blessed writing skills, a strong melodic flair, artistic sensitivity, and interpretive talent. These are precious virtues in an era in which music often loses its sacredness, its vocation, and its social and cultural significance. Values we've recognized for 30 years, decades in which our man has written effective melodies, irresistible riffs that stick to your skin, and songs that have become part of not only history, but also the imagination and experience of each of us. Songs capable of fueling the soundtrack of our time. What Leo has written is an artistic and emotional legacy that has indelibly marked the artistic life of our region, simultaneously shaping the history of Swiss rock, open and in dialogue with the world. A world he frequented and frequents, with which he dialogues, forging friendships, engaging in dialogue, and nourishing himself with life and beauty. Indeed, Leo Leoni, who for some time could have been "resting on the laurels" of a unique and rare career, rich in awards and recognition, Leo, as I was saying, is still driven by the "sacred fire." The fire that still burns in him, that spurs him on, that contributes to his human and artistic restlessness. His healthy curiosity and unquenchable creativity that fuels the flow of inspiration, fortunately he doesn't ignore it or want to quench it. Because it's his nature, because it's his path: that of a music lover who still rides that wonderful dream he nurtured as a child and cherished as a teenager in his Lamone, among his people. And even though Leo is now a citizen of the world, and music has taken him everywhere, the bond with his homeland is a significant umbilical cord, impossible to sever. And so the recognition that Lamone dedicates to him has a dual meaning: not only to testify and reward his absolute talent but, above all and for the benefit of younger generations, to underscore the value of commitment, perseverance, and dedication; fundamental ideals for realizing one's dreams.
