Mawa, also known as Khoya is a dried evaporated milk solids. The milk is slowly simmered on a large open kadhai, till all the moisture evaporates and it reduces to solids. Mawa is a rich source of Vitamin D and Calcium, both of which are essential for bone health. It is high in fat and thereby calories too as it is made from full fat milk. Store bought Mawa is not always fresh or sometimes at some places it is not even available. In that case, one can always prepare Mawa at home perfectly. It is a bit tedious to prepare mawa at home and needs a lot of patience and concentration as it involves continuous stirring and monitoring of the milk. But once prepared, your hurdle to prepare any sweet is crossed. Today I will share with you how to prepare perfect fresh mawa at home. Enjoy!
