DIY LED Garden Light Repair - From Start To Finish

LED garden light repair time - yep, another 12V LED garden spotlight takes a dump! Here's my easy fault tracing steps, followed by a quick replacement of the faulty 3W warm white LED. I was lucky because I had a "used" replacement 3W LED bulb from another identical failed Hampton Bay garden spotlight. You can of course get packs of 3W warm or bright white LED SMD bulbs for a few bucks: https://amzn.to/3SJjjyk Assuming you want to put any money or time into a crappy spotlight. Better yet - toss the crappy overpriced low voltage Hampton Bay LED spots once they fail, and get the inexpensive 12V ones from Amazon or eBay. You can get a set of 6 for not much more (around $65 CND) which is close to what a single Hampton Bay LED spot costs. Here are the ones I started using 4 years ago as the overpriced Hampton ones started failing within the first year: https://amzn.to/3baKfS6 These full metal and well sealed Amazon/eBay LED spots have all worked great and outlasted all the Hampton spots that they replaced. The only Hampton spotlight I have left is that one on our address sign. Once it fails for good, I'll be getting another of those no-name Amazon sets to replace it and have spares on hand.
