After a night of “stirring up chaos” with Lady Gaga, in Episode 2 I’m taking you to a place where time seems to stand still – Universal Studios Japan (USJ). This isn’t just an amusement park, but a place where I rediscovered the child from the year 2000 who had been hiding all this time. From sweet sips of Butterbeer in Hogsmeade Village, the heart-stopping moment of facing the giant shark in JAWS, to being overwhelmed by the explosive blockbuster scenes at WaterWorld… I truly got to live inside the movies I once could only dream of through a small TV screen. And to end a full-throttle day of “going wild,” I stopped by the Fukushima area to enjoy a gigantic bowl of eel rice at Izumo (いづも). A not-so-small sense of pride in finally turning my childhood dream into reality!
