Speaker 1: Today on our 2014 Honda Odyssey, we're gonna take a look at and show you how to install the etrailer.com custom fit Class 3 trailer hitch receiver offering the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. It's part number E98862. Now, this is what your hitch is gonna look like installed. As you can see, like most of the hitches for the Odyssey, we've got our cross tube that come across meets up at our frame there where we make our connections.Now, this is a Class 3 hitch, so you're gonna have the 2" x 2" receiver tube opening. Just about the most common one out there. Generally, if they make a hitch accessory, it's probably gonna come in this size. So, you should be able to use just about anything giving you tons of versatility. Also, something that's much different about this hitch as compared to others available is gonna be the finish on it. This isn't just a gloss black powder coat finish that they've put over steel. What we have is a base prime coat. Over top of that we've laid a heavy duty black powder coat finish that has a little bit of that matte texture to it. This is gonna be one you won't have to worry about rusting.Now, to secure all the items in our hitch, we're gonna use the 5/8 diameter pin hole. You can see here on the side. You'll notice there's plenty of room around that. So, any type of anti-rail device you wanted to use should work out fine as well as locking hitch pins or, of course, just the standard hitch pins. Safety chain connection points are here on the bottom. They've got an oval shape to them. This is gonna work out for any size trailer that you'll wanna pull behind your Odyssey. Larger trailers sometimes have larger hooks, which might be a little bit of a challenge, but for any kind of trailer rated within the Odyssey's capacity, you shouldn't have any issues at all.Now, as far as the weight ratings on the hitch go, you've got a 350 pound tongue weight rating. That's the maximum downward force we can put at the receiver tube opening. And, we have a 3,500 pound gross trailer weight rating. It's gonna be the total weight of your trailer and anything you load up on it. The hitch is rated for use with weight distribution. When using weight distribution, the tongue rate's gonna go up to 500 pounds. The gross trailer weight's gonna go up to 5,000 pounds, but you definitely wanna check the owner's manual on the Odyssey to see what it's rating is and not exceed that.Now a few measurements that you'll find helpful when it comes time to select your ball mount, bike rack, or hitch cargo carrier will be from the ground to the inside top edge of the receiver tube opening. You've got about 13-1/4 inches. With that being said, it's not a bad option to choose accessories with a rise in the shank to give you better ground clearance. Then from the center of your hitch pin hole to the outermost edge of your bumper, it's about 4-1/4 inches.Now, to begin your installation on your hitch, if your vehicle's equipped with this plastic panel, you need to get that taken down. We've got three push pin fasteners around the outside here. Straight up in this pocket, you'll have a 10 mm bolt. In just gonna use a trim panel tool. You could also just use a flat blade screwdriver. You pull the middle section out, and then that larger outer section will come with it.Now, we're gonna kind of pull forward and to the side. You get that pulled out of the way. Looks like on the mud flap here, we have one more fastener on that front side, we'll have to take out. So, if you have these mud guards, check for a screw there. See, it's kind of tucked in behind there. We'll need to use a short Phillips to get that backed out. It should come out like that.Now, on each side of the vehicle we're gonna be using these two weld nuts. You see we've got one right here, and there's one just behind it. That'll be for our bolt and our conical tooth washer. You wanna be sure that these can thread in easily. So, we wanna use a little bit of spray lubricant, and we're gonna use a nylon tube brush. We just wanna clean those threads out really well. We won't have any issues. You wanna repeat that process to the other side as well.Now, with the help of an extra set of hands, we're gonna get out hitch lifted in position. Both sides are gonna look like this. You wanna get that up and over the exhaust as you put it in. Line up the two rear most holes in the hitch flange. We'll get those lined up with those wel
