Strikes against Crimea threaten Putin’s legitimacy | Vitalii Rishko

Crimea has become, alongside Moscow, one of the main targets of Ukrainian strikes. “After years of full-scale war, this situation is beginning to threaten Putin’s political legitimacy,” says Vitalii Rishko, Founder and Lead Strategic Advisor at Equilibrium Strategic Advisory, in an interview with World Talks. He notes that Ukraine has successfully rebuilt its defense sector, meaning these attacks could have serious consequences for Russia. Could Crimea eventually become an island? “I think it is both a military and a political objective,” Rishko says. At the same time Russian forces are focusing their offensive on Kostiantynivka in the Donbas region, seeking to capture the city.
