Break Dancers Battle In A NYC School Yard 1984

This is classic footage of B Boy competition that takes place in South Jamaica Queens NY during the early 1980’s. Two groups of neighborhood kids meet up in the back off a packed school yard (PS 121) to face off in an ultimate break dancing battle. The people in this video are some off the people who shaped molded and schooled me into the entire hip hop culture. The video ends off with the DJ live jamming in the streets. This video is epic. The original footage did not contain any music so I had the pleasure of adding all the hip hop records from that era I was born in Brooklyn NY 1975 I lived in Brownsvilles Tilden Housing Projects. My moms and pops would play a bunch of Soul and Jazz music in the crib. By the time I was 6-7 they had separated and my father gained full custody of me. In 1983 we moved to Queens NY and this is where I was first got exposed to the Hip Hop culture. My brothers Cool Flex, Zodiac Fishgrease and cousin Steven (Black -O) had a significant impact on my life as a child. It was here that my love for Hip Hop began.
