【熱帯魚水槽】寄生虫ギロダグチルスにやられているコリドラスを回復させるため徹底的に調べて対応を実践/薬が無い!!どうするか→【高濃度塩水浴】を試す。

This is a sequel to the last video, where I covered how to deal with the parasite Gyrodactylus that killed my Corydoras. I've included a summary of the previous video, so you can understand the content just by watching this one. This channel mainly focuses on sharing the results of my experiences with raising tropical fish, setting up aquariums, and maintaining them, but I'll also share things I research in order to do so. You may find some of this helpful, so if you subscribe you'll be notified when a new video is uploaded. Thank you. This video is about treating an injury or illness to a tropical fish, so I had to put into practice the appropriate response method, which makes it seem particularly nerdy, but that's not always the case - I sometimes have silly elements, but I think that's part of what makes this channel tick. I particularly went a little overboard with the newt video. I even went to the trouble of making music just for the newt, which took way too long. I was trying to make a simple video about adding two new species to this tank, but during filming, I went out to buy the two new species and returned to find that one of them had died. It was a very sudden death for me, but when I checked the video I'd taken an hour earlier, I noticed that it was heavily infested with parasites and emaciated. There were no signs of this in the video I'd taken a week earlier, so it seems like the situation had suddenly changed. [Main Episode] When I checked the other Corydoras, I also found quite a few parasites attached. The parasite in question was called a gyrodactylus, which is completely different from anchor worms and fish lice and is so large it's usually invisible to the naked eye. It's said that it was brought to Japan by infested guppies. There seem to be an incredible number of species, but unlike Dagutirogyrrhus, a parasite that only infects gills, this parasite can also infest fins and scales, so the Corydoras in this tank are mainly infesting their heads. Incidentally, it's often said that Gyrodagtylus only infects in low water temperatures, but some websites explain that this isn't always the case. It's been about three days since I started the salt bath, and I've gradually increased the salinity, but both the fish and shrimp still seem to be able to live normally. The Gyrodagtylus is still attached. Someone who watched my previous video commented that perhaps the only option was to use a medicated bath or a chemical like Tropical N. I was thinking of trying that right away, but I discovered that this chemical has disappeared from the market. It seems the Chinese government is doing something to the local factories that handle the raw materials, and Japanese manufacturers are unable to produce such chemicals. I went to a pet shop to see if they had anything, and they said that Resvermin might work, so I bought some. It seems to be used to exterminate anchor worms and fish lice, and is a substitute for existing medications that are no longer available. However, upon closer inspection, I found that it seems to eliminate arthropods by inhibiting their molting. Both anchor worms and fish lice are arthropods that shed their skin, so it seems effective in exterminating them. Gyrodactyls are flatworms, which don't shed their skin, so I thought it wasn't quite right and returned it. Resvermin is apparently being sold as a "substitute for Mazoten Refish," but while these contain trichlorfon, an insecticide, Resvermin apparently works by interfering with the hormones required for molting, preventing them from molting and killing them. So I'm not sure if it will work on these wriggly flatworms. I also found an aquarium shop website that says it's ineffective against Gyrodactyls. Still, I continued researching, hoping to find something to do with Gyrodactylus, and I came across a Kindle book about Gyrodactylus on Amazon Australia. The author was Japanese, so I searched for it on Amazon Japan and found it, which I bought for 800 yen. Towards the end, there was a description of how to get rid of them, and as expected, it mentioned using trichlorfon-based chemical baths and formalin, as well as high-concentration salt baths. Unlike the slow, low-concentration salt baths I've tried up until now, this involves putting the organism in high-concentration salt water for a short period of time to kill the parasites. I'll try this. By the way, Gyrodactylus is said to parasitize fish in low-temperature water, but one book states that it can also parasitize tropical fish, and that some species can parasitize even in water that isn't low-temperature. There are many species of this type of organism, and some parasitize salmon, others carp, and so on. I also found a website that claims that parasites from guppies were brought into aquariums and spread the infection. [Corydoras Alignment Challenge]    / kf_aq.  .
