Exploring an Abandoned Jewish Colony in the Centre of Canada

Edenbridge was an old Jewish colony that was founded more than 100 years ago, in the province of Saskatchewan , Canada. It has since been abandoned and forgotten, even by many locals who don't seem to know this place. At the turn of the century, Jewish communities in Europe were experiencing high levels of prosecution, in the form of pogroms. A group of 56 Jews left Lithuania to start a new life elsewhere. Their journey brought them to Canada where they started this farming community in the middle of nowhere, and in the harsh Canadian winters. They faced immense challenges, but they overcame them and built a thriving farming community that lasted 6 decades. This place is an important part of Canadian history, and in this case, Canadian Jewish history, one that is not well known by most people. This place is Saskatchewan's best kept secret.
