R&J Colliery is an incredible model railway depicting a detailed industrial scene! Early Access: / @thatmodelrailwayguy MERCH: https://shop.thatmodelrailwayguy.com As many of you are aware I'm a big fan of industrial locos and by association industrial themed layouts. So imagine my joy when I recently got to see R&J Colliery which I think is one of the best examples of industrial railway modelling. Having followed the build myself on RMWeb I was looking forward to seeing the layout in person at RAPIDO RAILEX back in September. Being based overseas this was the first time the layout had been exhibited in the UK and features a selection of wonderful locos such as the Rapido Hunslets, Hattons Barclay and the Planet Industrials Kerr Stuart Victory. But it's the scenics that really set this layout above the rest with the dirty grimy yard capturing the essence of these small industrial railways perfectly. The layout also features several animations, with the pumps and machinery on the buildings slowly working away - all while the odd car or van passes by on the road. R&J Colliery really is an exceptional layout in my opinion and one that I'm very glad to have seen in person. Filmed at RAPIDO RAILEX in September 2024. Thanks for watching 😃
