Today’s video features a morning run around the stunning Yeongrang Lake in Sokcho, South Korea. The full loop around the lake is about 8km, but I took a shortcut across the floating bridge, making it a 7km run back to the starting point. To the west of this beautiful lake, you get a breathtaking view of Ulsanbawi Rock on Seoraksan Mountain, the third-highest peak in Korea. To the east, the vast East Sea stretches out as far as the eye can see. In early April, the deep, clear lake and the rows of cherry blossoms come together to create a view you can only catch during this specific time of year. Running through such unreal, natural beauty on a crisp, clear morning was honestly an overwhelming experience. The 2026 Yeongrangho Cherry Blossom Festival runs until April 12th, so I highly recommend visiting to catch this breathtaking view for yourself! Located about a 3-hour drive from Seoul, Sokcho is a city famous for the grand scales of Seoraksan Mountain, the deep blue East Sea, and its incredible local seafood and regional delicacies. Whether it’s for the flowers in spring, the beaches in summer, or the mountain trails in fall and winter, this city is a must-visit destination all year round.
