Here's a continuation of how I would save up some money to get better lures/equipment before doing the career. Get a #2 Dark Matter Rig to catch some big carp in Waldsee offline tournament. After that it's pretty easy to win. Once you have some extra TP if you get the Haichou Expert Tournament Reel (3000TP) you can bring in those big carp without issues.
