HISTORIA DEL RELOJ

A clock is an instrument capable of measuring natural time (days, years, lunar phases, etc.) in conventional units (hours, minutes, or seconds). Its primary function is to tell the current time, although it can also have other functions, such as measuring the duration of an event or activating a signal at a specific time. Clocks have been used since antiquity, and as manufacturing technology has evolved, new models have appeared with greater precision, better performance and design, and lower manufacturing costs. It is one of the most popular instruments, as practically everyone owns one or more clocks, primarily wristwatches. Many households may have several clocks, many appliances incorporate them in the form of digital clocks, and every computer has a clock. Besides its practical function, the clock has become a piece of jewelry, a symbol of distinction and status. The greatest precision achieved so far is that of the latest atomic clock developed by the US National Bureau of Standards (NIST), the NIST-F1, launched in 1999, it is so accurate that it has a margin of error of only one second every 30 million years.
