Crime Line Video Update: Dollar General Robbery

The NNPD is seeking the public’s assistance with identifying a suspect in a recent robbery from a business. On Monday, May 20 at approximately 5:25 p.m., officers responded to the Dollar General in the 200 block of Beech Drive in reference to a theft. A preliminary investigation revealed that an individual left the business without paying for numerous items. A store clerk confronted the suspect outside the business and returned inside. The suspect followed the clerk back inside and appeared to threaten the clerk before walking behind the counter and stealing several packs of cigarettes. He left the business on foot, walking in the direction of Todds Lane in Hampton. The suspect is described as a Black male, approximately 6-foot-3 to 6-foot-7 in height. He was last seen wearing light blue athletic pants, no shirt and no footwear, carrying a maroon sweatshirt in his hand.
