These demons would steal young children from the village. To fight back, a clever local priest and the villagers captured the demons. They placed them on tridents to parade them around town and scare the evil spirits away. Today, parents willingly bring their kids to participate. Locals strongly believe that this sacred ritual acts as a shield. It protects the youth from evil energies and terminal illnesses.
