Shawn Lane - Stratosphere II - US. Metal Vol. 4 - Shrapnel Records

Released in 1984 this is the 1st commercial release of Shawn Lane by Mike Varney at Shrapnel Records. Mike wrote a monthly "New Talent" column for Guitar Player magazine in 1982 and Shawn wrote to him and submitted a cassette tape. Varney was so amazed that he called several people including Paul Gilbert and played it over the phone to them asking if they thought it was real or some kind of prank. It was real.
