Minister of Natural Resources and Environment, Mr. Suchart Chomklin, revealed that this achievement is the result of the cooperation of all sectors in compiling the data and pushing for the nomination, leading to approval from the World Heritage Committee. The main reason for UNESCO's registration is that Wat Phra Mahathat Woramahawihan possesses outstanding universal value, serving as a center of religion, art, culture, and beliefs that have been passed down for over 1,500 years. It reflects the cultural exchange among people in the Asian region and has continuously preserved local traditions, lifestyles, and identity. Following this, the government will proceed with managing the area according to UNESCO standards.
