I'M PREGNANT!! Yessss, I can finally announce it. I'm now 14 weeks pregnant as I'm recording this video. Unfortunately, getting pregnant wasn't easy. That's why, after a year, we contacted our GP, who referred us to the hospital. There, the tests began, and it became clear what was going on. I have reduced fertility due to elevated FSH (menopausal hormone). The hospital gave us two options for trying to conceive: IUI or IVF. We chose to start with the IUI treatments because they are slightly less intense than IVF. We couldn't believe our luck when we discovered that we had unexpectedly conceived naturally before starting our first IUI treatment. Unfortunately, it was short-lived, and I miscarried after six weeks. This was quite a shock, as the baby was so much wanted after trying for a year and three months. Once my cycle had returned to normal, we were finally able to start the first IUI treatment. And the first treatment was immediately successful. I'm pregnant. 🤰🏻 Because of the miscarriage, we remained very cautious at first and didn't dare to be overjoyed about the pregnancy. For self-preservation, we kept our options open. After all, things could still go wrong in the first few weeks. After the first two ultrasounds at the hospital, at 6+5 and 9+5, we were very reassured. There we saw a baby with heart activity! So we were increasingly confident that this was a healthy pregnancy. And after the positive NIPT result, we're over the moon. We're having a baby in September.
