Since the Brazilian Navy decommissioned the A-12 São Paulo in 2017, no Latin American country currently possesses an aircraft carrier. However, Argentina also had two such vessels: the ARA Veinticinco de Mayo and the ARA Independencia. Therefore, in this video, we will explore some of the history of aircraft carriers in these two countries, as well as how Chile and Peru were at one point interested in possessing such a ship and even took steps to acquire one.
