Panasonic Lumix FZ80/82 For Beginners Part 3: Perfect Exposure

In this video I look at the three metering modes that the camera presents to help you get the right exposure. Whole area considers all the brightness values in the image. Centre Weighted bases the exposure using the central area brightness. Spot metering takes a very small matrix of pixel brightness to determine exposure. Whilst the spot metering gives precise values for exposure it is the most difficult to use as it requires knowledge of where to find mid grey tones in an image. I generally tend to favour centre weighted metering as most of the image is centred upon the subject and is particularly suited to portrait shots. I examine why some scene types will give incorrect exposures and how to compensate for this. My photoblog: https://www.grahamhoughton.com/
