Ancient Phoenix & Hanging Waterfalls: The Magic of Hunan

Stepping into a literal fairytale today as we explore two of the most breathtaking ancient towns in China: Fenghuang (Phoenix Old Town) and Furong. Our journey starts in Fenghuang Ancient Town. Known for its iconic stilt houses (Diaojiaolou) along the Tuojiang River, this city comes alive with history during the day and transforms into a neon-lit wonderland at night. If you’re a fan of ancient architecture, stunning landscapes, and rich culture, these two spots need to be on your bucket list. Next day post lunch we head to Furong Town, a 2,000-year-old village perched precariously on the edge of a massive waterfall. Walking behind the cascading water and through the narrow flagstone streets feels like a scene straight out of a movie.
