The show opened in spectacular fashion with a mass Spitfire formation joined by Hurricane XII and three Hispano HA-112 Buchons, setting the tone for a weekend of breathtaking flying displays. Highlights included the Flying Bulls’ stunning P-38L Lightning and F-4U-4 Corsair making their UK debut, alongside the P-51 Mustang duo of “Agile but Fragile” and “February” flown by the world-famous Horsemen Aerobatic Team. The Fighter Collection unveiled two new stars: the newly restored P-47G Thunderbolt “SNAFU” and the incredibly rare P-40F Warhawk, joining a lineup of Hawk 75A, P-40B, and P-40N Warhawks. The sky was filled with historic might from aircraft including the B-17G Flying Fortress “Sally-B”, F8F Bearcat, Fokker Dr.I Triplane, Sea Fury T20, Skyraider, Fairey Swordfish, and an extraordinary formation of Hawker Biplanes — Nimrod I, Nimrod II, Hawker Demon, and Hawker Hind flying together for the first time in decades. The grand finale, the famous Balbo formation, saw over 25 aircraft thundering past in perfect unison — a sight that simply has to be seen to be believed.
