An Introduction to Haradwaith | Episode 5 of What Is the Age of the Ring Mod EXTENDED EDITION | BFME

In this fifth episode of the EXTENDED EDITION of the video "What Is the Age of the Ring Mod?" I cover the mod's all original faction of Haradwaith! This faction has some of the most diversity in terms of styles of play and units, as well as unique mechanics in all of BFME. This is in large part because it is focused on the mysterious lands and peoples of the south of Middle-earth, out of the wide and barely explored region of Haradwaith. Consequently, this faction's design is one of the most imaginative ones, from tribal units under nameless warlords in the debatable land of Harondor; to the more familiar and nefarious Black Numenoreans and Corsairs out of Umbar; to the people of the savannahs and deserts known as the Mahuddin; all the way into the jungles of Far Harad and the people of the Nafarati. This faction also boasts a considerable creature feature element, from vulture-like flying creatures to giant scorpions and killer apes! The cream of the crop, though, is the centrality of the mumakil, as they play a central part in the story of the faction. Consequently, the mod introduces not one but two new types of mumakil and completely overhauls the already familiar one from vanilla! Given the faction is based on a region with little specific history and names, naturally, the faction sports an all new roster of original heroes with their own individual stories, a great way to imagine who the big players of that region may have been.
