Comprensión lectora. Vocabulario
Is it enough for a student to know a lot of words to understand what they read? Research shows that it isn't. In this video, we explore the difference between vocabulary breadth and depth, two fundamental dimensions for reading comprehension. Drawing on the work of Kintsch, Ouellette, and Tannenbaum, we analyze why understanding multiple meanings, semantic relationships, and the use of words in different contexts fosters meaning construction. We also reflect on the implications for teaching practice and share strategies that can strengthen vocabulary development in the classroom. #teachers #readingcomprehension #vocabulary #language #literacy #teachertraining
