Caminhando, 1964/2012
Created in 1964, "Caminhando" concludes the "Bichos" phase and continues Lygia Clark's journey toward the dematerialization of the artwork. From this work onward, the artist attributes absolute importance to the participant's act. This proposition consists of cutting a Moebius strip lengthwise along its entire length, until all possible trajectories are exhausted. The work is your act. Now, cut the Moebius strip and see what happens. Also, try making a circle with the strip and cutting it to see the result. You will be amazed.
