GR Yaris SMSP GP 1:39.7 PB Rydanz R50

Another productive test day at Sydney Motorsport Park GP with the GR Yaris! The goal for the day was to havw fun, continue testing and getting used to the new suspension and alignment setup, while building confidence in the car and seeing if there was any more lap time to find. We started the morning with 24 psi cold all around, targeting around 30 psi hot, and gradually fine-tuned the tyre pressures throughout the day. The result? A new Personal Best of 1:39.71! The weather was fantastic, with a track temperature of around 24°C and an ambient temperature of approximately 18°C. It made for some really enjoyable conditions all day. It was also great to share the garage with Nick, Ruben and Michael. Always a good atmosphere and plenty of laughs between sessions. There was quite a bit of traffic throughout the day, which definitely cost us a few laps. On a couple of occasions I was up on my best sectors before catching slower cars and having to back off, so I still think there’s a little more time left in it. The car performed flawlessly once again and didn’t miss a beat all day. The Rydanz R50s are now around their fifth track day and are still holding up really well. The rear is starting to slide around a little more, but that’s mostly due to how aggressively the LSD locks, which actually gives the car a nice amount of rotation. I’m really happy with the result. Breaking into the 1:39s is a great achievement considering the car is still running the factory turbo and factory ECU, with just a custom tune and supporting modifications.
