You'll find cinemas, theatres, banks, hotels, restaurants, dozens of small and large shops, and administrative centres here. The Square was created when Charles IV founded the New Town in 1348. It has been a centre of Prague's Old Town since the Middle Ages, a marketplace crossing the roads of European merchants. The Old Town City Hall was built in the 14th century, and the Church of Our Lady before Tyn a little later.
