A safe backswing- Part 4/5: Is longer better?
If you make your golf swing longer you will probably gain some speed. The increase of time you create will give the club time to accelerate. I think that you should start with stretching and maybe yoga outside your golf practice before you try to make a longer backswing. If you force your body to swing longer it will probably give you a bad result and maybe injury.
