"Gnat at the BBQ!" - Highpoint Rewind

We’re coming out of High Point in Mt. Morris, Pennsylvania, and Hunter Lawrence just went 1-1. And spoiler alert… I don’t think Jett has seen this version of Hunter before. Now Jett? He’s alright. He’s just fine. Even if there’s a little thorn creeping around inside his shoe right now, I’m not worried about Jett Lawrence. But Haiden Deegan? Yeah… there are two versions of Haiden. There’s the educated, methodical racer — the one learning, progressing, taking notes, and getting better every single weekend. Then there’s the showman. The WWE-style Haiden. The one bringing the heat, playing the game, talking smack. Definitely entertaining. The kid is riding good, and he’s going to keep moving toward great. Meanwhile, the 250 class? Absolute chaos. Levi Kitchen still holds the red plate by one point after what I’d call a pretty mediocre day. Cole Davies? He’s like a silent ninja creeping into these storylines. And Jo Shimoda… my man… at some point, you might have to start roughing some people up! And last but definitely not least: WMX. People, the stars have arrived. Mayla Herrick showed up and grabbed a holeshot in her pro debut, which was no surprise to my producer because he witnessed her absolutely waxing the boys at the Washougal Regionals. Congrats on the debut, Mayla. This sport bites hard, and unfortunately you learned that quick, but we’re glad you’re okay and ready to bounce back. Lala has some serious competition on her hands when this series comes back, because Charli Cannon was ready to take advantage of every opportunity. And Lotte Van Drunen? Please come back for more. I’m telling you, this women’s field is the best I’ve ever seen. This series is going somewhere, and it’s so cool to see a full, healthy, stacked WMX field.
