Believed to be recovering from a ritual fever, the deities are undergoing secret rituals inside the Anasara Ghara. After the Madhyahna Dhupa ritual, the Phuluri Oil will be taken in procession to Shree Jagannath Temple, Puri, where it will be applied to the deities at night by the Daitapati servitors. According to tradition, the Bada Odia Matha has been preparing and supplying the sacred Phuluri Oil since the reign of King Pratap Dev. The aromatic oil is made from cold-pressed sesame oil blended with fragrant flowers such as Ketaki, Juhi, Jayi, Malati and Bakula, along with Krushnabhoga rice, Bena root, and around 27 traditional ingredients. The ritual is an integral part of the Anasara traditions and is performed as part of the sacred healing ceremonies of the wooden idols before their public reappearance.
