Even though it has been given a new touch by the renovation, its wide windows and dilapidated walls still murmur the story of that legend of Bengali literature—the one who rose above communalism and delivered the message of the Holy Quran to the homes of Bengali-speaking people. Girish Chandra Sen was born in this very house in 1834. He spent his childhood days in this courtyard surrounded by the nobility of the famous Baidya Dewan dynasty.
