Newborns: Use a 2.5mm hook with 3mm thick #3 yarn 0-3 months: Use a 3mm hook with 3mm thick #3 yarn 3-6 months: Use a 3.5mm hook with 3mm thick #3 yarn 6-9 months: Use a 4mm hook with 3mm thick #3 yarn 9-12 months: Use a 4.5mm hook with 3mm thick #3 yarn 12-24 months: Use a 5mm hook with 4mm thick #4 yarn 2-3 years: Use a 5.5mm hook with 4mm thick #4 yarn For this little Pedrito sweater, romper, or pullover (3-7 months), I used Lion Brand Baby Soft #3 yarn and a 3.5mm hook. You will need approximately 108 grams of yarn (354 yards/324 meters) for the 3-6 month sweater. Gauge: 5 cm = 5 rows / 10 stitches using a 3.5 mm hook and size 3 yarn, working in double crochet stitches in the round.
