The Theme Park History of Splash Mountain (Disneyland/Tokyo Disneyland/Magic Kingdom)

Splash Mountain is a log flume dark ride that opened at Disneyland on July 17th, 1989, Tokyo Disneyland on October 2nd, 1992, and October 3rd, 1993. Based on the characters, stories and songs from the 1946 Disney film Song of the South, the attraction costed 75 million dollars, making it one of the most expensive attraction ever built by Disney at the time.
