The most challenging test of our motorcycle pilgrimage to Umrah: The Syrian border closed, leaving us stranded in the 1200 km Nefud Desert? 🚫🏜️🏍️ A relentless struggle for survival in Saudi Arabia, amidst visa crises and sandstorms in the desert! In the 19th episode of our thousands of kilometers long motorcycle pilgrimage to Umrah, we're heading back from Medina, but our plans are thrown into disarray! The closure of the Syrian route due to conflict and the fact that our visas are single-entry have condemned us to the most unforgiving region of Saudi Arabia: the Nefud Desert. In this 1200-kilometer stretch of desolation, we battled 50-degree temperatures, sandstorms that forced our Suzuki V-Strom 650 off the lane, and an endless road hypnosis. However, when we took refuge in the tent of a Sudanese shepherd in the heart of Nefud, whose language we didn't understand, we rediscovered the universal language of humanity.
