1966 Lister Diesel Autotruck fitted with a single cylinder Lister LD1
1966 Lister Autotruck Lister started making these 3 wheeled trucks in the 1930s. The early ones were fitted with British JAP air cooled petrol engines. By the 1950s Lister began fitting the trucks with their own air cooled diesel engines. The trucks were offered with numerous body options and build types. Typical uses would include shifting stock around warehouses where their maneuverability was excellent. Over the years Lister fitted various diesel engines of their own manufacture; LD, LR, and the ST range are three examples. Some trucks had twin cylinder engines fitted. After lister ceased production, various other firms began re manufacturing the truck to a very similar design. One such company was DPR engineering who made the trucks in the 1990s (I think) Lister autotrucks were very ruggedly made and are virtually indestructable! A great example of British over engineering.
