Ludwig van Beethoven: Piano Sonata in E, Op.109 (Samuil Feinberg)

Composer: Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) Performed by Samuil Feinberg (piano) (   • Samuil Feinberg plays Beethoven Piano Sona...  ) This is the thirtieth piano sonata (in traditional numbering) composed by Ludwig van Beethoven and was perhaps overshadowed by Beethoven's previous piano sonata, the 'Hammerklavier', op.106. It has three movements, the first frequently alternating between two tempi and the third a set of six variations. The performer, Samuil Feinberg, was a rather prolific composer himself. He also composed twelve piano sonatas (albeit in a much more 'modern' style). The audio used in this score video was recorded in 1953 when Feinberg was 63 and nearing the end of his life.
