Damage was reported in Ragalna, in the province of Catania, due to the magnitude 4.5 earthquake recorded at 7:05 a.m. on Wednesday, March 4, with its epicenter near the town. Parts of a ruin collapsed onto a road, and another wall partially crumbled in a private courtyard. "It was very strong; in 63 years I've never felt it so strong," said a woman who lives near the collapse site, describing the quake. Problems were also reported in the town center, where several buildings were damaged and a car was damaged by falling debris. Cracks are visible on the exterior walls of some buildings, while debris is visible on the ground. "I'm a doctor. When I arrived here, I found my office damaged and called the fire department to at least take my work tools. It seems this area was the hardest hit," explained a doctor. "I heard a sudden explosion, like a bomb," said another resident. "As for serious injuries, there are currently no reports. The homes are habitable so far," was the initial assessment by the head of the Adrano fire department.
