Examining Strange Structures on a Remote Pacific Island… McKean Island

What are these weird outlines on this remote, uninhabited island in the middle of the Pacific? This is McKean Island, part of the Phoenix Islands chain of Kiribati. This place has a lot of not well-known history, including unethical guano mining, shipwrecks, invasive species, and proximity to Amelia Earhart's last known location. I also discuss Gardner Island (Nikumaroro) as well as look into articles and pictures online, to see what I can discover and uncover about these locations from my computer! This is not an expedition to the location, but instead what I can find online.
