New Aztec Mayor Brett Lanier : With Brett Lanier, & Scott Michlin

Mayor Brett Lanier joined KSJE for his first interview since being elected as Aztec's 60th mayor, discussing his priorities for the city and his vision for its future. The conversation covered current water restrictions due to drought, progress on the long-awaited Aztec Arterial Project, and the city's efforts to fill key leadership positions and improve infrastructure.  Lanier also highlighted the importance of supporting local businesses, strengthening regional partnerships, and expanding community-focused projects such as the BMX track and downtown events. Reflecting on his lifelong ties to Aztec, he emphasized preserving the city's small-town character while encouraging thoughtful economic growth and long-term planning.
