Sergio Fajardo define su postura frente a la segunda vuelta presidencial

In an interview with Mañanas Blu, Sergio Fajardo, after obtaining one million votes in the first round of the presidential election, reaffirmed his stance of independence from the campaigns that advanced to the second round. The political leader emphasized that his priority is the defense of his programmatic principles and not the pursuit of bureaucratic positions or backroom deals. "I am not negotiating anything with anyone," Fajardo stated, dismissing rumors of private talks with other political sectors. The Rejection of the Constituent Assembly One of the key points of discussion was the announcement by the government and sectors close to Iván Cepeda's campaign that they were withdrawing their proposal for a Constituent Assembly. Fajardo received this news positively, noting that it was one of the fundamental conditions of his ten-point platform. Regarding this, he stated: "I think it's excellent that they're withdrawing that proposal for a Constituent Assembly, which I said from day one was a call to war." Fajardo defended the validity of the current Constitution, asserting that his team worked to "strengthen the 1991 Constitution" and prevent modifications in future presidential terms. According to the former candidate, the Constitution possesses the necessary tools to carry out the transformations that Colombia requires without needing to "kick away what he doesn't like" or undermine the separation of powers. A ten-point plan for the country, not for negotiation The political leader emphasized that the ten points presented to the public are not a bargaining chip for securing support. This plan includes issues such as ending polarization, fighting corruption, education, health, and a new order in foreign policy. "I am not presenting these points to negotiate with anyone," he clarified, insisting that his path has been coherent and consistent throughout his career. Fajardo lamented that, amidst the aggressiveness of the campaign, many of his proposals were not given due consideration in the past. However, he emphasized that the country is now viewing these points with a different perspective. "This ten-point plan is what we have presented to Colombia... what I have presented on every occasion, and it remains relevant," he stated. When asked who he will vote for in the second round, Fajardo remained tight-lipped and defended the autonomy of those who supported him. For him, the idea that a leader can "endorse" votes is flawed.
