Que son las Abejas silvestres- TvAgro por Juan Gonzalo Angel

Twitter @juangangel As a conservation strategy, to include elements of environmental education and to raise awareness of the importance of bees, the Bogotá Botanical Garden has a bee hotel project. These hotels create spaces for solitary bees seeking nesting and egg-laying areas. They also address the preconceived notions surrounding honeybees, highlighting the existence of other native species with different characteristics and behaviors in the ecosystem. The use of bees as pollinators in crops has been common since the beginning of agriculture. However, in recent decades, their intensive use, focused on honey production and increasing agricultural yields, is having an adverse effect on the natural environment. On the one hand, managed species compete fiercely with native species, as the latter do not visit plants visited by honey bees. On the other hand, excessive dissemination of bees on the plant causes pollen tubes to become clogged, preventing seed production. The trials were conducted in orange groves in the provinces of Huelva and Seville. Source http://www.ebd.csic.es/-/competencia-... Juan Gonzalo Angel Restrepo www.tvagro.tv
