Incredible Backpacking And Trout Fishing! | Boulder Mountain, Utah

2019 has been a crazy year of snow for Utah, and my favorite local mountain range, the High Uintas Wilderness has been covered in snow much longer than in years past. So in order to avoid the snow and mud, Dane, Wasatch Will and I opted to check out a route on Boulder Mountain in southern Utah. Boulder Mountain is a massive forested plateau that sits above and to the west of Capitol Reef National Park. Many of the drainages and water that feeds Capitol Reef comes from Boulder Mountain. Much of the area sits above 9500' in elevation and is covered in aspen groves, ponderosa pines and is a haven for wildlife. Enjoy this weekend trip in the Pleasant Creek area where we had the place to ourselves, enjoyed beautiful trails, fished small mountain streams and happened upon some elk enjoying an evening in Pleasant Creek Meadows.
