Partial Correlation: Part 1 - Calculating "r"
In this video I show you how to calculate the partial correlation between two variables while holding the effect of a third variable constant. You're first task is to calculate the sum of squares for each of the three variables. Afterwards, you must calculate the sum of products for each of the three variables. Then you can calculate the correlation coefficient between each of the bivariate relationships. Finally, use the partial correlation formula to remove the affect of one variable on the relationship between the other two remaining variables.
